I got another book review, and this is on a historical fantasy for both younger and older kids. It’s called The Golden Hour, by Carrie Brownell. The link to it is here.

Want More Fantasy Reads? Authors are Looking for ARC Readers
My publisher, Beyond the Bookery, has fantasy authors who are looking for readers who would be kind to review their stories. Who knows? You might become their newest fans!
The Dragon and the Owl by Alice Monday (a fantasy retelling of Miriam and Baby Moses).
When Bells Ring by Madisyn Carlin, Michelle Emmanuelli, and M.K. Minnick. They’re wintry retellings of Snow White and Rose Red, Twelve Dancing Princesses, and The Snow Queen. Perfect for the Christmas season!
A Bonus Story, Starring Princess Celine
Hi, everyone.
Have you read my Little Red Riding Hood story “Friend of the Dire Wolf”? If not, be sure to pick up a copy of Of Dangers and Dreams, which includes this fairy tale retelling. Bonus: it’s on Kindle Unlimited.
One of the side characters is Princess Celine, who drinks an alchemist’s potion and turns into a dire wolf. Why does she do that? Well, the bonus story gives a glimpse on that. Specifically, it’s an excerpt from Princess Celine’s journal.
My Story is on Kindle Unlimited
Do you have Kindle Unlimited? My “Friend of the Dire Wolf” novella, which is in the book Of Dangers and Dreams, is on Kindle Unlimited. As are other novellas from the Fairy Tale Frenzy series. They’re fairy tale retellings set in contemporary, historical, and fantasy settings, and retellings include Little Red Riding Hood, Robin Hood, Beauty and the Beast, and more.
Webcomics I’m Enjoying
Do you have a webcomic you’re reading right now?
I’m currently enjoying Journey Upstream, an allegory of the Christian journey, i.e. following Jesus in a fallen world. And the main characters are animals! They travel to their new home upstream, and they meet other helpful animals as well as obstacles along the way. Backstories of individual characters are told visually and are interspersed throughout the comic, and they hit the right beats in the story.
Another web comic I like is a dystopian series called Extra!, where people live as if they’re a TV show, politics and all.

WHO am I?
I’m K.A. Ramstad (of course), a creator of fantasy and fairy tale retellings. I write for children, middle grade, and teens, and you’ll see me write a review on a picture or middle grade book every once in a while.
